I hate the smelly stuff!
And last night my person insisted on opening up that little tube and putting it on my neck. I tried to get away buy my person knows me too well. Plus, she really, really hates bugs. Over the last week or so she's found a handful of bugs crawling on my tummy. They don't bother me, after all there weren't that many. It's not like I was covered with them or anything.

Guard Cat
We spent the weekend in the motorhome with my person's parents. I love to camp, as you know if you've read previous posts. But this weekend was a little different. My person's sister came (she's okay, I used to live with her too) and she brought....the baby. Now don't get me wrong, he's not a bad baby and we get along just fine if he's quiet and still. But that doesn't last long. For the last two morning I had to guard my person from that sqirmy little guy. My person needs her sleep.

Bossy Redhead
Today I was scooped up and put into my crate. Generally that means a car ride somewhere. Mostly, we go places I like, and today we got to the Parent's house...eventually. But before that, we made a stop at a house I've never visited before. But it wasn't all unfamiliar. I knew the people at the house, an encountered one very unfriendly redhead. Her name is CeCe and she was not hospitable at all! She hissed and growled at me. I just wanted to say "hello". Anyway, I'm taking a few days of R and R at the Parents' house so I can lay beneath my lilac tree.
Note this picture was taken when she was a cute cuddly kitten.

Walkabout
The last two days have been really nice with sun and blue skies. When the sun is out, I want to be out also, so my person put hooked up my collar and leash and let me out to roam on the patio. I have to say that I don't really mind my leash. When we go for a walk, I get to lead, and since I'm happy to sniff and roll on the concrete, being tethered isn't so bad. After I came back in my person left the back door open, with only the screen to keep me in. Okay. I'm used to that too. But after a couple hours she decided to close the door because it was chilly. I guess she doesn't think 55 degrees is warm.
Well, even though the back door closed, I discovered the bedroom window was open. It didn't take much effort to push the screen out of the window frame and let myself outdoors. Ahhh....freedom. What I saw and did...well, what happens outdoors stays outdoors. I'll just say that getting back in the window wasn't an option since the screen has popped back against the window, so I had to make do with coming to the backdoor where my person immediately wanted to know how I'd gotten out. It only took a few seconds to remember she'd left the window open. With my luck, she'll never do that again.

Barking Squirrel
It was a beautiful morning, so my person buckled on my collar and leash and let me out onto the back patio. It felt so good to lounge in the sun and fresh air. I was happily sunning my self when suddenly there was this persistent barking. It was the darn squirrel, the one I watch, ordering me off the patio so he could come down from his tree. As if.

Friend or Foe?
I'm an only cat. My person says it's because she's not sure how well I'd enjoy having another full-time roommate. The truth is I'm not sure if I'd enjoy having another cat around 24/7. I don't get to spend much time with other cats.
This evening I was minding my own business, watching the world go by out the sliding glass door. My person wondered what was so fascinating. It was another cat, right there on the other side of the screen. We watched each other for quite a while, this cat and I. It was obviously hungry, so my person gave it some of my food, but she didn't even ask if I'd mind!. Just because I can't open the bag, doesn't mean I don't care.

Vacation...
I guess I get them too. Although, since I'm a cat, and a very indulged one, I'm always on vacation. It's kind of like how my person's parents are retired.
So, for the last couple weeks I've been hanging out with my person's parents. I get to hang out in the yard. I really like "my" white lilac tree. And it's the best when it blooms. And there are trees to climb. I also really like to roll in the garden when the dirt is nice and soft.
Part of our vacation was spent at the lake. I like it there. It's so quiet and I can lay on the step of the motorhome or in a lawn chair. The only annoyance was Boo, this dog camped next to us. She would come over and try to visit. But I'm not really fond of dogs.

My Nemesis
My person has this thing. It's boxy, and makes clicking sounds when she taps it with her fingers. I hate it. When it's on her lap, I can't be. And she doesn't like it when I walk across it, or try to lay on it. Right now, she's tapping, and she keeps pushing my paws out of the way. I don't understand why she finds it so fascinating. It doesn't do anything. No purring, no kneading, and it never gets fed. Oh, and my person really hates it when I chew on it's tail.

Cold and Snowy

It's been very cold and the white stuff keeps coming down. I haven't had the urge to go out for awhile now, but the other day my person opened the back door and I stepped out for a few minutes. There was snow on the patio, so I didn't stay out long. Instead I've spent most of my time curled up in my favorite, fuzzy, fleece blankets.

Tree in the House
It's time for the crazy people to bring trees indoors. And they're not very useful trees. The one my perosn has is so prickly and scratchy, and you can't climb them. What's the point? The only good things are that I now have another bowl of water to drink from, and all kinds of dangling, shiny things to pull down and play with. Now if only my person uses lots of that curly ribbon stuff. I love to chew on it!

Vacation
I just got home from spending a week with my person's mom. The dad was out of town, so it was just the two of us hanging around the house. I got to climb trees and help rake leaves. And then, there were the long hours sleeping in the rocking chair. I really didn't want to come home even though I did miss my person.

A new place.
I've known something was going on for awhile now. First, all our stuff moved into the garage at the parents' house. I had some good hiding places. Then they started moving stuff around and some of it disappeared. Then my person left. But last night the parents brought me here, to this new place where all our stuff is and my person was so happy to see me.
It's going to take some getting used to. There are new cabinets to explore and I don't think I'm going to get to go outside as much. But my person's here and that's what really matters.

Where'd it all go?
Our stuff is gone! It's been a very weird few days. I was happy at the parents' place. My person was here after being gone for a long time. Things were good. then she disappeared! The next day the parents people put me in my crate in the car and drove a long time. We went back to my person's home. But it was different. There were boxes everywhere and my food and water dishes were not where they're supposed to be. And my litter box was gone! The next day, more people came and they started moving all the stuff out of our house. That night everyone slept on the floor. It's just too weird.

I'm a carnivore?
A couple weeks ago my person and I were watching a cooking show about pet food. One of the individuals on that show stated that cats are pure carnivores. I don't believe it! You mean I've been eating the wrong things all these years? Do fish crackers count? (The plain ones are best) What about really stinky cheese? (I'll take a good bleu over cheddar any day!) Of course my current seasonal favorite is....GRASS! The long, wide bladed variety.

Cold, White Stuff!
I've been keeping myself indoors lately. Okay, I want to go outside, but it's cold and, hey, I'm a house cat. But I can't resist my person's call "Hey Kit, want to go outside?" It's the magic word. Outside. And usually it means I'm going to have some fun.
The other day was a bit different. I jumped up and headed for the door only to be greeted with more cold and this white stuff falling from the sky. I think it's called snow, but I've only seen it a few times in my life. It doesn't happen very often where I live. I decided to cut my outdoors jaunt short. Who know, that stuff might be dangerous.

I hate the car! I hate the car!
It was another unpleasant car ride in my crate. I had to show my displeasure by complaining loudly for the first sixty miles, or so my person told her mother. Then I did the panting thing she finds so freaky. On the plus side, after the long, long journey we're in my second favorite place. And it's tree time. Lots of dangly things to knock off onto the floor. It didn't take me long to find some nice curly ribbon to chew on and tissue paper to shred. That made my person's mother very unhappy. I guess she didn't want to know what smelled so good in that present yet. Oh well.

I hate to travel
So, I'm hiding under the dining room table as this is being typed. I was correct in thinking that I would be going somewhere. My person went to work one day her parents scooped me up into my carrier and brought me to their house. It's a nice house, and I like being here since my person's mom lets me outside. But I miss my person when we're apart.
My person arrived here tonight and maybe I have to go home now. That's why I'm hiding. I really don't like my crate.

Going Somewhere? - My fears
The parents of my person arrived today for a visit. I don't know how long they're going to stay, but any time they arrive with luggage I feel the need to make myself scarce for awhile. Today I chose to hide under the bed for a couple hours. My person keeps making noises about me going home with them. I'm going to have to find a better hiding spot on the day they leave.

I Love Plastic: Part 2
Remember how I said my person's been muttering about my little plastic habit? Well she did. Wednesday night when I attempted to gnaw on my favorite lamp cord it tasted awful! She, of course, was exstatic and gleefully told me it was something called Bitter Apple and she put it on every cord I've ever looked at. I'm not happy. So I retaliated by heading off into the underbrush the other day on my supervised walk. Now she may never let me out of the house again.
