I hate the car! I hate the car!

It was another unpleasant car ride in my crate. I had to show my displeasure by complaining loudly for the first sixty miles, or so my person told her mother. Then I did the panting thing she finds so freaky. On the plus side, after the long, long journey we're in my second favorite place. And it's tree time. Lots of dangly things to knock off onto the floor. It didn't take me long to find some nice curly ribbon to chew on and tissue paper to shred. That made my person's mother very unhappy. I guess she didn't want to know what smelled so good in that present yet. Oh well.

I hate to travel

So, I'm hiding under the dining room table as this is being typed. I was correct in thinking that I would be going somewhere. My person went to work one day her parents scooped me up into my carrier and brought me to their house. It's a nice house, and I like being here since my person's mom lets me outside. But I miss my person when we're apart.

My person arrived here tonight and maybe I have to go home now. That's why I'm hiding. I really don't like my crate.

Going Somewhere? - My fears

The parents of my person arrived today for a visit. I don't know how long they're going to stay, but any time they arrive with luggage I feel the need to make myself scarce for awhile. Today I chose to hide under the bed for a couple hours. My person keeps making noises about me going home with them. I'm going to have to find a better hiding spot on the day they leave.

I Love Plastic: Part 2

Remember how I said my person's been muttering about my little plastic habit? Well she did. Wednesday night when I attempted to gnaw on my favorite lamp cord it tasted awful! She, of course, was exstatic and gleefully told me it was something called Bitter Apple and she put it on every cord I've ever looked at. I'm not happy. So I retaliated by heading off into the underbrush the other day on my supervised walk. Now she may never let me out of the house again.

I love plastic and that's bad!

I know that sounds weird. It's bad because the plastic I love to chew on most is lamp cords, yes the kind that give you a zing when the lights are on. And when my person catches me gnawing away, I am reprimanded. But that doesn't work so well. After all, I am a cat! So now my person is muttering about fixing the situation once and for all. Hmmmm. Wonder what she's got planned?

Car Rides

They're not my favorite thing. I don't mind traveling once I get to where I'm going, but I really don't like riding in my crate. It's so confining, but I don't really like to be loose in the car either. This weekend I found a happy place to ride...on my person's lap. Okay, so she's not too thrilled about it, and it's not the most comfortable, but I get to look out the window. All I had to do was make a serious racket and she let me out of that cage. I don't know how successful I'll be next time though. She's been muttering about a new plan for the next trip later this month.

Crime Against Cats

Since I'm a black cat, and my person is naturally distrustful of people, I'm usually an indoor cat. This doesn't always make me happy. I'd rather be outside in the sunshine. But after the horrible story I heard today, I'm glad my person is so protective.

My person had a cousin, Kelly, who lets his cat, Buddy, outside. Last week Kelly went away for a night and Buddy went outside. Kelly has roommate, so it's not like Buddy was locked out with no place to go. Anyway, when Kelly got home he couldn't find Buddy. Buddy finally showed up covered in red spray paint! It must take a really horrible person to do something so hideous.

Some Cats are so Unfriendly

I went outside today with my person and her mother to do what I like to do: eat grass and roll in the dirt. And I came across this other cat laying in one of my favorite spots. I thought I'd go over and say "hello". That was a mistake. All I got for my trouble was a very indignant hiss. Fine, be that way.

Rolling in the Dirt

I love to roll in the dirt. I look for good patches of the stuff at every opportunity. It's been a really good experience if my white paws are no longer so pristine. Today I found a good patch right off the edge of the deck and my paws were very brown when I finished.

Unahppily Leashed

My person and I are back at our first home. It's a nice place. I have things to climb, and it's a lot of fun using the dining room table as a springboard to the kitchen counter. I'm not supposed to do that, but.... The worst part about being back home is that I can't go outside without my leash. The leash is something I've learned to tolerate over the last few years, but after hanging out at my second home, where there's room to roam and lots of interesting smells, being confined to the back deck by my leash is really boring. My person understands this. She brought me a special treat today...catnip pizza! http/wwww.catnippizza.com/

I Want What I Want, When I Want It!

They won't let me outside today. I am not a happy cat. You'd think they would know that. I started out asking politely, but that didn't get the job done. Then I started using my outraged voice. No luck. Pleading didn't work either. Now they're getting the silent snub. Maybe that will do the trick!

Cat People Everywhere!

I'm an only cat. I'm not sure I'd like to share my person's affections, but I am interested in other cats. Unfortunately, I don't get to meet many. The next best thing is cat people; people who live with cats. Today three of these people came for dinner. The woman likes me a lot. I don't think her two cats pay her much attention. The older man talks to me with an accent, and makes clicking noises. He's nice, but doesn't try to hold me the way the woman does. They live with two cats. Two girl cats. The other man lives with a cat who loves his person. I head him talking to my person and both were complaining about the amount of shedding we cats do. I don't know why this is such a problem. I have fur, I will shed. Get over it already!

It was a great weekend!

I get to travel. Oh joy. I have a crate, and I really hate to be in it. Usually it means a trip to the dreaded vet, or a long car ride. I hate riding in the car! Sometimes it means a trip in the big rolly thing my person's parents call a motorhome. That's pretty cool. It's my 3rd home, you see. The first is where my person lives, the second is where her parents live, and then the motorhome. The best part about any of these places means I know where my food is located and where to find the litter box, at any hour. I can't imagine anything worse than not knowing where those two very important objects are!

So, during the thing my person calls a weekend we went in the motorhome to the great big pond of water place. It's nice there as long as my person's sister doesn't bring her stupid dogs. Well, only one is stupid. Dixie hasn't yet figured out that when I scratch to draw blood, she should go away. Mojo learned his lesson well.

So, the weekend. I spent a great deal of time lounging in the lawn chair I claimed. I rolled in the dirt, which did not make my person's mother too happy. She has a thing about dirty paws on the furniture. And my Tylor caught me a hopping bug to play with. When it stooped, I got bored. Then he found me a crawly bug. That one eventually flew away. I guess he didn't want to play anymore.

Welcome to My Life as a Cat!

Hi all you cat-lovers. Yes...cat. You see, that's what I am. My name is Kit. I'm seven years old, and I live in Oregon with my person. I know what some people say, cats don't have people, they have staff, but that's just so bourgeoisie. Besides, she's a pretty good person to live with.
