I hate the smelly stuff!

And last night my person insisted on opening up that little tube and putting it on my neck. I tried to get away buy my person knows me too well. Plus, she really, really hates bugs. Over the last week or so she's found a handful of bugs crawling on my tummy. They don't bother me, after all there weren't that many. It's not like I was covered with them or anything.

Guard Cat

We spent the weekend in the motorhome with my person's parents. I love to camp, as you know if you've read previous posts. But this weekend was a little different. My person's sister came (she's okay, I used to live with her too) and she brought....the baby. Now don't get me wrong, he's not a bad baby and we get along just fine if he's quiet and still. But that doesn't last long. For the last two morning I had to guard my person from that sqirmy little guy. My person needs her sleep.

Bossy Redhead

Today I was scooped up and put into my crate. Generally that means a car ride somewhere. Mostly, we go places I like, and today we got to the Parent's house...eventually. But before that, we made a stop at a house I've never visited before. But it wasn't all unfamiliar. I knew the people at the house, an encountered one very unfriendly redhead. Her name is CeCe and she was not hospitable at all! She hissed and growled at me. I just wanted to say "hello". Anyway, I'm taking a few days of R and R at the Parents' house so I can lay beneath my lilac tree.

Note this picture was taken when she was a cute cuddly kitten.

Walkabout

The last two days have been really nice with sun and blue skies. When the sun is out, I want to be out also, so my person put hooked up my collar and leash and let me out to roam on the patio. I have to say that I don't really mind my leash. When we go for a walk, I get to lead, and since I'm happy to sniff and roll on the concrete, being tethered isn't so bad. After I came back in my person left the back door open, with only the screen to keep me in. Okay. I'm used to that too. But after a couple hours she decided to close the door because it was chilly. I guess she doesn't think 55 degrees is warm.

Well, even though the back door closed, I discovered the bedroom window was open. It didn't take much effort to push the screen out of the window frame and let myself outdoors. Ahhh....freedom. What I saw and did...well, what happens outdoors stays outdoors. I'll just say that getting back in the window wasn't an option since the screen has popped back against the window, so I had to make do with coming to the backdoor where my person immediately wanted to know how I'd gotten out. It only took a few seconds to remember she'd left the window open. With my luck, she'll never do that again.

Barking Squirrel

It was a beautiful morning, so my person buckled on my collar and leash and let me out onto the back patio. It felt so good to lounge in the sun and fresh air. I was happily sunning my self when suddenly there was this persistent barking. It was the darn squirrel, the one I watch, ordering me off the patio so he could come down from his tree. As if.

Isn't it Pretty?

When my person came home yesterday afternoon, the tree was all lit up. You see, I figured out how to turn it on. There's this long wire hanging off the tree, and well, I like wires; so I grabbed on and pulled and the lights came on.

Friend or Foe?

I'm an only cat. My person says it's because she's not sure how well I'd enjoy having another full-time roommate. The truth is I'm not sure if I'd enjoy having another cat around 24/7. I don't get to spend much time with other cats.

This evening I was minding my own business, watching the world go by out the sliding glass door. My person wondered what was so fascinating. It was another cat, right there on the other side of the screen. We watched each other for quite a while, this cat and I. It was obviously hungry, so my person gave it some of my food, but she didn't even ask if I'd mind!. Just because I can't open the bag, doesn't mean I don't care.
